The goal of the session is to educate clinicians regarding core clinical concepts for IMRT. Sessions are a combination of lecture and hands on practical application utilizing multi-vendor planning platforms for case studies, and a clinical setting for quality assurance. The intended audience for this session is physicians and physicists.
The course is led by radiation oncologists and physicists associated with D3 and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). These professionals have supported the development of IMRT programs including policies, procedures, and protocols at over thirty clinics from coast to coast. Course materials and approaches have been enhanced through the experience gained in supporting the treatment of thousands of patients with IMRT.
The course will be held on weekends, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Sundays at UPMC’s Shadyside Hospital Cancer Pavilion, located in Pittsburgh, PA. Maximum class size is 10.
The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
